De functie

You will be part of a small and professional team of Analysts that manages the controlling of costs and the budgets within the Embassy:

  • You are responsible for managing different budgets
  • You prepare annual Field Budget Estimates, as well as financial plans, required at the mid-year, in the last quarter of the fiscal year
  • You use budget execution software and other applications (spreadsheet, databases, etc.) to prepare reports for fund managers on subjects such as operational costs, lists of prefunded items, overtime costs, and contracts.
  • You meet with agency heads to discuss financial/budgeting problems and to propose solutions. Advising them on budget strategies depending upon instructions and indicators will also be part of your job.
  • You make analyses of expenditures before establishing obligations.
  • You will control funds, validate transactions, classify and record obligations, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly, year-end and other recurring reports.
  • You will review and analyze interoffice payments (i.e. shipping costs, furniture procurements, etc.).

  • You hold a university degree in Finances, Accounting, Economics, Management,…
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English AND French OR Dutch
  • You can prove at least 3 years of working experience within a controlling, accounting or analyst role
  • You are highly organized, you show good attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • You have strong analytical and numerical skills
  • You are dedicated and stress-resilient
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and positive attitude
